Scanning Artwork

Scanning artwork is the best way to capture an image in terms of resolution, detail and even lighting. What we add to this is the ultimate concern for color.

Scanning artwork

We have a 2400 dpi, 12″ x 18″ flat artwork scanner which is ideal for smaller works on paper or canvas. Larger works can be scanned as multi-part scans and then montaged together which provides a seamless image of the highest quality. Maximum artwork size 24″ x 36″.

We spend time correcting the color of the scan to match it as closely as possible to the original artwork. Calibration can take you only so far the hard work of matching by eye is where skill and expertise take over.

We will show you your work next to printed proofs to confirm that we have matched the colour to your satisfaction and we will re edit if required.  However please be aware that no copy can ever be exact. We will undertake only a limited number revisions to bring the proof in line with your expectations.

Certain surfaces are almost impossible to scan such as textured, varnished or febrile surfaces. We will recommend photography in these instances.
